Linen Privacy Policy
Version 1.0 · Last updated 2 November 2026
In short: FPH collects what it needs to sell you Linen and check your licence. Anonymous usage statistics are optional and off until you turn them on. FPH never receives your code, your prompts, Claude’s replies or your Claude login.
1. Who is responsible
The data controller is FPH, a sole proprietorship in Denmark, CVR 43252771. FPH’s address is on linenide.com/legal/imprint. Contact for privacy questions: support@linenide.com.
2. What we collect, why, and on what legal basis
| Data | Examples | Why | Legal basis (GDPR) | How long |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Purchase and billing | Name, email, billing country and address, VAT number, order and invoice details, payment status | Selling Linen, sending your key and invoices, bookkeeping | Contract (Art. 6(1)(b)); legal obligation under the Danish Bookkeeping Act (Art. 6(1)(c)) | 5 years from the end of the financial year, as the law requires |
| Licence | Key ID, edition, expiry date, a random device ID (hashed), activation dates, Linen version, operating system | Activating and checking your key, enforcing device limits, preventing key abuse | Contract (Art. 6(1)(b)); legitimate interest in preventing piracy (Art. 6(1)(f)) | While your key is active, plus 12 months |
| Order link | The Stripe IDs of your checkout, customer account, subscription and payment, and your order number, stored with your key. Not your name, email address or card: when Linen emails your key, it reads your email address from Stripe and does not keep it | Sending your key (straight away, or when your withdrawal period ends), extending it when a renewal is paid, deactivating it after a refund or chargeback, and opening the customer portal | Contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) | While your key is active, plus 12 months |
| Security | IP address of licence requests | Rate-limiting and blocking attacks | Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) | Used in memory only, not stored |
| Support | Your emails and what you send us | Answering you | Contract or legitimate interest | 2 years after the conversation ends |
| Beta and devlog sign-ups (linenide.com) | Your email address, your age group (never your birthday), which list, when you signed up and confirmed | Inviting you to the beta; sending the devlog if you asked for it | Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), given by confirming the email we send | Until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it |
| Withdrawals (linenide.com) | Your name, email address, order number or product key, your message, when we received it | Handling your withdrawal and refund | Legal obligation under consumer law (Art. 6(1)(c)) | 5 years, as the Bookkeeping Act requires for refunds |
| Website visits | The page, the site you came from, your browser, operating system and country. No cookies and nothing stored in your browser; visitors are counted with a hash that cannot identify you | Seeing which pages help people | Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) | Only totals are kept |
| Spam protection on the site’s forms | Signals from your browser that tell people from bots, checked by Cloudflare Turnstile when you send a form | Keeping the forms free of spam | Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) | Not stored by FPH |
| Usage statistics (optional) | Random install ID, key ID, Linen version, OS, the Minecraft version and loader you target, which features you use, check results, crash type, and totals reported by Claude Code (tokens, estimated cost, sessions, active time, lines changed, commits and pull requests) | Improving Linen, fixing crashes, planning support for versions and loaders | Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)); off until you turn it on | Raw events 90 days, then only anonymous totals |
Usage statistics are linked to your key ID, so FPH can see usage trends per key. They never include the content of your work. You can turn them off at any time in Settings; this does not affect data already processed.
3. What we never collect
- Your source code, assets, file names or project names
- Your prompts to Claude, Claude’s replies, or the tools Claude runs
- Your Claude, Anthropic, GitHub or other account passwords, tokens or session data
- Hardware serial numbers
- Your contacts, browsing history or anything outside Linen
4. Claude Code and Anthropic
Linen can run Claude Code, made by Anthropic PBC. When you use it, you sign in directly with Anthropic, and your prompts, code context and Claude’s replies go between your device and Anthropic (or your chosen cloud provider). FPH is not part of that exchange and receives none of it. Anthropic processes that data as an independent controller under your own agreement with them and Anthropic’s privacy policy.
If you turn on usage statistics, Linen asks Claude Code to send its built-in usage totals (listed in section 2) to FPH. Claude Code redacts prompt text by default, and FPH’s servers also discard any account identifiers, such as email addresses or account IDs, before storing anything.
5. GitHub and other services you connect
If you sign in to GitHub in Linen, your GitHub access token is stored in your operating system’s secure keychain on your device. It is never sent to FPH. The same applies to Modrinth, CurseForge and Hangar tokens. Those services process your data under their own privacy policies.
6. Payments through Stripe
Payments are handled by Stripe. Stripe processes your card and payment details as an independent controller under its own privacy policy. FPH receives only what it needs for the order and bookkeeping: your name, email, billing address, country, VAT number if given, what you bought, and the payment status. FPH never receives your full card number.
7. Who processes data for us
| Provider | Role | Location |
|---|---|---|
| Vercel | Hosting linenide.com and the licence server | The licence server in the EU (Paris); the website from Vercel’s worldwide network |
| Supabase | The database for licences, sign-ups and withdrawals | EU (Paris, France) |
| Cloudflare | DNS for linenide.com, spam protection on forms, downloads | Worldwide network |
| Resend | Sending emails: keys, confirmations, acknowledgements and reminders | EU (Ireland) |
| Plausible Insights OÜ | Counting website visits without cookies | EU |
| Stripe | Payments, subscriptions, tax calculation (independent controller) | EU and USA |
FPH has data processing agreements with its processors. Where data goes outside the EU/EEA, such as some of Stripe’s processing in the USA, it is protected by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses. FPH does not sell personal data and does not use it for advertising.
8. Your rights
You have the right to:
- access the personal data FPH holds about you and get a copy;
- correct data that is wrong;
- delete your data, unless FPH must keep it by law (for example invoices under the Bookkeeping Act);
- restrict or object to processing based on legitimate interest;
- data portability for data you gave us under a contract or consent;
- withdraw consent for usage statistics at any time in Linen’s Settings.
Email support@linenide.com to use these rights. FPH replies within one month. You can also complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet, datatilsynet.dk) or the data protection authority in your own EU country.
9. Children
Purchases require you to be 18 or to have a parent’s or guardian’s consent. Signing up on linenide.com requires you to be 13 or older, and the devlog 16 or older. Usage statistics can only be turned on by users aged 13 or older, the age set by Danish law for consenting to online services; younger users need a parent to decide.
10. Security
Licence tokens are cryptographically signed, all connections use HTTPS, the licence server and database run in the EU, and access to FPH’s admin systems requires a passkey and a second factor.
11. Changes
FPH will update this policy when Linen’s data use changes. Material changes are shown in Linen and on linenide.com before they take effect. Previous versions are kept, and FPH sends them to you on request.
